Vivaldi’s new season – a complete redesign and new flagship feature

OSLO, Norway, October 24th, 2024

Today marks a transformative moment for Vivaldi as we roll out a massive update, bringing Vivaldi into a new season. This release introduces a brand-new user interface with floating tabs, and sleek new icons. Paired with the customizable themes in Vivaldi, users get a more spacious, intuitive, and visually stunning browsing experience.

We are also introducing a new flagship feature, Dashboard. It’s a fully customizable control center, designed to streamline the user’s entire digital experience by keeping everything in one place, ready at a glance. This makes it effortless to stay organized without leaving the browser, vital for anyone balancing work and personal life, or multiple projects.

This is more than just a browser update. This is a new Vivaldi and a leap forward for users who demand more control and power in their browser.
– Jon von Tetzchner, Vivaldi CEO.

Spacious, Sleek, and Stunning

In this update, Vivaldi’s user interface has been transformed. Tabs now float, creating a clean, spacious look that feels intuitive and modern. New icons add depth and detail, while also neatly elevating the new tone of the UI. With this update, we provide users with a seamless and visually striking experience that enhances their workflow without sacrificing style. With the almost endless personalization options in Vivaldi, users can customize themes allow users to tailor the browser’s aesthetic to their personal taste, and the features to match their workflow. Whether you prefer minimalist elegance or something more dynamic, the new UI does what Vivaldi is all about; adapting to your needs.

Your Command Center – for Everything

The standout feature in this release is Vivaldi’s Dashboard, a feature designed to give you full control of your digital life in one centralized space. With Dashboard, users can manage their Mail, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks, all within the same browser window. The true beauty of Dashboard lies in its flexibility, allowing users to create their own personalized dashboard. Dashboard can include any website as a widget, turning it into a true command center for managing their entire digital life. Whether you’re juggling work, personal projects, or just staying organized, Dashboard puts everything in one easy-to-navigate space.

Other features included in this release:

  • Feed-Reader updates: To make the Feed-Reader even better, we have added the option to have separate feed folders. Combined with the new Dashboard, Feeds are better than ever in Vivaldi, and –as ever– they’re controlled by the user, not Big Tech’s algorithms..
  • Jump to latest mail: We’ve added this simple, yet impactful element to Vivaldi Mail, letting you jump back to your most recent mail with a click. It’s extremely convenient for those high volume inboxes.
  • Instant Sync: Real-time sync of tabs, bookmarks, and settings across your desktop devices for seamless browsing transitions.

With this release, Vivaldi reaffirms its commitment to giving users total control of their online experience, pushing the boundaries of what a browser can be.
